Breaking ground at the Carrying Place

August 5, 2026

For years, Flying V was a name we flew over software. In 2023 we planted it in the ground.

We bought fifty acres at 3160 Victoria Road, in Carrying Place — the old portage where travellers once carried their canoes between the Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario. It felt right: a place that has always been about the journey between two waters.

The first season

  • Over 60 fruit trees in the ground, with more to come.
  • Strawberries, blueberries, and haskaps established.
  • Garlic and potatoes — our first real harvest — coming out of the soil now.

What's next

The old garage is now a 25′ × 50′ shop. The farmhouse is rebuilt and open for stays. And somewhere down the road: a pear spirit, grown entirely here.

Follow along — we're just getting started.
